Another first

On Friday Easton had his first big boy hair cut. He wasn't too sure at first but he did great! He even has a little spiky do here! We've had an eventful weekend so I'll be sure to post some pictures later. Busy getting ready for Halloween, made my first costume for Addisyn this year, not quite done but I'll share about it later, this momma is off to bed.

Yet another messy face

After the doctor the other day daddy took the girls to pick out cookies. Kylynn picked a pumpkin, Addi picked a ghost and Jason said, "just give me any other one as well." Yeah, they gave him a black spider cookie. OH MY GOODNESS! Black frosting was everywhere and stained his hands. He enjoyed it though!

A trip to Moelker's

The apples of our eyes, my three blessings. We had a beautiful afternoon at the pumpkin patch and apple orchard.

Off they go, running to find the perfect pumpkin. Easton enjoyed his ride in the wagon. We all went on a hay ride pulled by horses. Each year the girls ask to go and so this year we planned some extra time to be able to spend enjoying the orchard. Funny thing is, J was raised on this orchard and we take walks all of the time in this orchard. Something about taking a horse hay ride through the orchard on a Saturday afternoon while getting pumpkins and apples just makes it all that more special.

The kiddos enjoyed playing some bean bag games while waiting for their wagon ride.

The Lord has blessed us with 3 beautiful children!

Easton Marc's first time wandering through the pumpkin patch. He's not an easy one to get a picture of these days. Not a lot of smiles for the camera but this is a great one, even if he's not looking at me.

Addisyn Joy, she was a little stubborn about picking out her pumpkin and getting her picture taken, what's new:) She picked this one out and we had to bring it back to the patch for her picture. Oh how I love her!

Kylynn Joy, our little girl. Or should I say teenager, oh my! She is trying to jump the gun on us I think. She loves to pose and I love her for it. She had so much fun looking for the perfect pumpkin with a stem.

As much as they already argue, they sure do love each other. I'm so blessed to have two daughters who love to play together and who are each other's best friends. The Lord is good!

We are enjoying our apples that we purchased, I made apple crisp yesterday and I have a half a bushel to use up yet. I'm looking for a freezer recipe so that I can make up bags of apple crisp and then use them this winter. Anyone got any good easy ones?

15 month check-up and a new trick

Jason just informed me on Saturday that he had caught our little guy up on the kitchen table one night last week. To be honest, totally didn't believe him. Well, Sunday when we got home from church he thought he'd help himself to his sister's cinnamon roll leftovers.

Up he went

And he made it!

And it was well worth it!

Today we had Easton's 15 month check-up and he still is a big boy, like I needed them to tell me that:) He was in the 90th percentile for both height and weight. He weighed 28 lbs 4 oz, gained almost 2 lbs in the last 3 months, and we added walking to the routine. He measured 32 1/2 inches, he grew an inch and a half in the last 3 months. Our little boy isn't going to be little much longer! It was a great check-up, except for his sisters throwing fits about their flu shots! Doc was not concerned about his lack of vocabulary. He's the third child, he's a boy and it's all good. He understands what we are saying and he follows commands. I can't wait for him to talk though. I know I worried a ton about Kylynn and my mom always reminds me, you thought she'd never talk and now she doesn't stop:) But I just can't wait for him to communicate more with me and to hear his little voice.

What else Easton is up to:
-you have 7 teeth all the way in and you are getting all 4 of your molars (you are taking it like a champ)

-you love to be outside and cry when we come inside

-we can always find you with something in your hands, you love to carry things around with you

-you love your milk and drink at least 3 or 4 cups a day

-sleep comes easy for you, you sleep through the night and still take 2 good naps

-you have learned to climb up the kitchen chairs and you also like to climb your sisters bunk bed ladder

-you like to brush your teeth, or suck the toothpaste

-you now like to bug your sisters, pulling their hair is fun

-you are all boy and we love it!

Our little school girl

Kylynn Joy is loving school! At night she likes to write, write, and write. She walks around writing numbers, letters and playing school. I also hear her practicing her letters and sounds and it makes me so happy to know that she is enjoying school. I love it! She's doing great at school and can't wait for her conference here next month to see how she is doing.

15 months

I can't believe my baby is 15 months old today! I have been terrible at updating his progress and blogging about his milestones. I'm going to blame work! Being back to work and doing Girls on Track has kept this momma of 3 incredibly busy!

Easton loves to follow his daddy around. His new favorite thing is to be outside. He cries if we don't play outside when we get home from day care. He loves playing at Amy's and carries around a bat, hockey stick or ball. Or he loves to push their little lawn mower. I think we have a true boy on our hand. If we come inside he'll go to the back porch door and look out and cry. He loves to be outside.

He's on the move all of the time! I can't get very many good pictures of him as he is a quick little guy. He's been walking for almost 2 months now and he seems to be getting faster. Not quite running but it won't be long.

He's been a little crabbier than usual lately. A few weeks ago he cut his front bottom left tooth, tooth #7 and a few days later I was trying to give him some pain meds and his mouth was wide opened and I noticed he was cutting a molar. So tooth #8 is coming through as well. Poor little man! One of the things he loves is Baby Einstein. This is a picture of him watching one this week, he was in the Baby Enstein zone.

Did I mention he's on the move constantly. He loves to run down the hallway, head out to the porch or the newest place is the basement. I think he likes playing on the steps but we won't let him and he'll stand at the bottom of the steps and cry when J puts the footstool in the way.

If it's not the kitchen cabinets or his sisters toys it's the oven drawer. Crazy little boy, he sure is curious. But we love it! It keeps us on our toes. He also has been a little more aggressive lately. Especially towards his sisters. He's learned that he can pull their hair and listen to them scream. It has been interesting. Along with the crabbiness he has been a little clingy to mommy. He doesn't like to see anyone leave or leave him either.

Easton Marc we love you so much! Life would be so boring without you. It has been so much fun watching you these last 15 months and I look forward to learning more about you as you grow and change. Love ya bubba!

Meeting Chloe for the First Time

We're all healthy at the Vugteveen home so we made our trip down to Lansing today to meet baby Chloe. The girls had been waiting all week and couldn't wait to meet her and hold her. She is a peanut, just a little thing she is. I just couldn't get enough of her today. We didn't see much of her eyes, she slept the entire time, good baby! It was so good to finally meet her and see my brother and Katie. I have a feeling we'll be making a few more trips down to Lansing, as long as we are healthy. Not my favorite thing in the world

PLAYDOUGH is NOT my favorite thing, but the kids LOVE it! And so does Easton. I had to keep a close eye on him to make sure he didn't eat it. He did try it at one point but spit it right back out. It was a beautiful afternoon and the girls had been talking about playing playdough lately so I thought it would be perfect outside on the deck and not on my carpet. So we spent an hour or so on the deck playing playdough. this is pretty cool stuff
I love this stuff mom

Never too late for a trip to the zoo

Today was a beautiful day for a trip to the zoo. I think no I know this is the latest we've ever been to the zoo. My parents decided to come down last minute yesterday to see the kiddos. It was such a nice little break for me though. They helped with bed time routine last night, thanks guys, and with breakfast this morning. It's the simple things in life that matter most. We were going to head to the pumpkin patch but my parents were interested in going to John Ball Zoo. They hadn't been in years so they thought it would be fun to go. The girls were pretty excited to take Grandma and Grandpa to the zoo and show them around. the girls and grandma watching the pelicans get fed
