7 years ago I became a mom...

Happy Birthday to our oldest, Kylynn!  7 years ago today you surprised mom and dad and came 2 weeks early, you decided you'd rather celebrate the 4th of July instead of stay comfy in mommy's belly.  I can't believe my baby girl is 7.  Time sure does fly by when you are having fun.

Our little bathing beauty!
You are a great big sister!  Always caring for your sister and brother!
You have such a fun personality, we can't wait to see what God has in store for you!
You always have a smile on your face and we love you for that.
You are a great friend!

Happy Birthday Kylynn Joy!  Can't wait to celebrate with you!

Birthday with Friends

This year Kylynn asked for a birthday party with friends, so that's what we did.  She went on a play date back in March to an art studio and painted a canvas with a friend from school.  This is what she wanted to do with her friends for her birthday so it was just a small group of girls but I think they had a blast.  We started at our home and then headed over to Selah Art Studio for some painting.  Kylynn was so pumped for this party and was up so darn early on the day of the party to help with decorations and set up.  It was quite cute.  I'll let the pictures tell the rest of the story.
Kylynn picked out a pink, blue, and lime green theme,
with zebra printed products.  I thought it turned out cute and the cake was perfect.

Fun day with Family

My cousin Jennifer and her family live in Texas.  We made the trek there 12 years ago to watch Eric and Jen get married and I have only seen them one time since the wedding.  Jen came to Thanksgiving when her oldest was just over a year, he is now heading into the 5th grade.  So when she said they were heading to Michigan I was quick to say we wanted to see them.  Yesterday was the day, we headed out to my grandpa's for the surprise.  It was soooooooooo good to see them.  It had been way too long.  She also has a daughter who is a few months younger than Addisyn.  The girls hit it off so well right away it was just so nice to be together.  Oh how I wish we lived closer.  We took Grandpa to one of his favorite restaurants, New Beginnings.  The kids did great and on the way home we stopped at the Ada Farmers Market, walked around a little, the kids enjoyed  a cookie, thanks to Eric, and I got some potatoes, zucchini and summer squash for our dinner.  It was a wonderful afternoon, we said that we wouldn't let it go that long next time, especially since the kids got along so well.
do you think these ladies are related?
they were so cute together

The start of summer...

Summer is off to a good start here at the Vugteveen home!  The kids are enjoying sleeping in and so is momma!  The girls did cheer camp this past week for three days at my school and loved it!  Easton and Mom got to do some shopping, he loved the one on one time. So far we've made it to Frog Hollow, the Library and the Maplewood Splash Pad, so we've been busy.  This week we are preparing for a birthday party for Kylynn and our first vacation, camping to Muskegon.  The kids are pretty excited.  Here's a look at a few things we've been up to lately.

Last Day of Kindergarten!

Better late than never!  Totally just realized I never blogged about Kylynn's last day of school.  It was a great year for her, she had a blast in Kindergarten.  She had a fabulous teacher and made some good friendships this year.  I was able to join her last chapel, what a blessing that was.  I was also able to have ice cream with her class as I was out of school already myself for the summer.  It was nice to have the last week to be able to bring her and pick her up, those little things I cherish as I don't get to do them on a regular basis.
