Soccer fun

We are having fun with both Addisyn and Easton playing soccer this fall.  Practice and scrimmage for Easton Tuesday nights, practice for Addisyn Thursday nights and then games on Saturday.  It has been a great fall, weather wise, for watching soccer.  Addisyn's first game was a bit chilly but today we enjoyed a 70+ degree temperature game, I even got some sunburn.  I would much rather be sitting in the sun then freezing my tail off.  Here's a few pics of our season so far.
Addisyn had a great 2nd game

This was right before she scored a GOAL

She played some great defense, some good big kicks

Grandma VanDyke came to her game and cheered her on
another fun game to watch
It is fun to watch her go for the ball!

GOAL!  Way to go Addisyn!

Grandma Vugteveen was there to cheer her on

Watching Easton was quite comical.  I say it's like tackle football/soccer, jason says it's like rugby.  The boys spent more time on the ground then kicking the ball I think.  Lots of pushing, shoving and tears.  Easton made it though.  He even scored.  Pretty fun to watch, he is super excited about playing.

First Field Trip for the Little Guy

I was able to attend Easton's first field trip this week to the Apple Orchard.  Seems like just yesterday that I was going on the same field trip with Kylynn and he was only a few months old.  Now it is his turn.  Time sure does fly!  He had a great time, he was so excited to be going to the orchard to see the tractors.  He saw lots of tractors on his walk through the orchard.  Easton was a great listener and I enjoyed spending the morning with him.  He wasn't to thrilled with mom taking his picture so not a lot of pictures were taken.

Annual Girls Weekend in Mackinac

Once again I headed north for a fabulous girls weekend with my BFF Trish and a great group of girls.  It is not the greatest timing to be gone but I sure do have fun!  I was able to take off a little early from work so that we could catch the 6:00 ferry to the Island.  I picked Trish up in Kalkaska, which is always nice to have a buddy to chat with while you drive.  We had our famous plank white fish dinner at Village Inn and then enjoyed a drink at Pink Pony before turning in for the night, we did have a race to run.

The Grand Hotel, amazing

We made it!

It was actually a great race for me. I was nervous as I hadn't done a ton of running in the last few weeks.  I had done 8 miles the Sunday before so I knew I could do it but wasn't sure how well it would go.  Trish started us off fast and I never slowed down.  I was pretty happy with my results, 9:14 pace and finished it in 1:13 min.  After the race we headed back to the room to shower up and get ready for our afternoon and evening.  The tradition that my friend Allison's mom started was you each bring a snack/appetizer to share and sit out on the lawn at Mission Point, where we stayed, in the white chairs.  It is so relaxing and enjoyable as we munch and chat away.  Always some great little snacks to hold us over till dinner time.

ran into my cousins son Josh and his wife enjoying their weekend away from kids, Trish and I interupted that.  It was nice to sit and share a beverage with them and have some good laughs.

Allison's mom made them for us along with ties for our bags so we can identify them, so thoughtful.

Always a great time with this chick!

Easton heads to Preschool

Today was a happy and sad day for me.  I am so happy for my baby boy, he was so excited to be going to school.  I am sad because it is my last little preschooler.  My babies are growing up.  Life is good though, we are entering into a new season of life.  He was awake before me this morning and even ate breakfast at home before having breakfast with mom at Rainbow Grill, silly boy.  I took the morning off to be able to bring him to school, these are the little things that I miss out on with working full time so I try to make these kinds of days special.  I thoroughly enjoyed our time together.  He let me spike his hair and dress him like a little stud muffin today, loved it!  Couldn't believe his response when I asked him what he wanted to be when he grew up, "a garbage man."  Hoping he means the boss of the garbage man and not driving the truck, but whatever he does he will do it well and he will be a happy little worker.
