River Bank The 2nd Time Around

Last year I wished I had signed up for the River Bank and it was a gorgeous day for a race.  I got sick in February and took time away from training so I wasn't quite ready to run it.  So this year I was going to do it.  I found myself a training buddy and we signed up.  We trained in the snow and all sorts of conditions.  We were ready!  The day arrived and of course it was a rainy one.  Why couldn't it be gorgeous like last year for me, oh well, still had to run.  It was a great race for me, I was not feeling it going in to the race but I was determined to just finish the race.  At mile 5ish I felt something on my foot and figured it was probably a blister or something but had to truck on.  I lost my training buddy and friend at mile 6 and felt awful but I was feeling good so I needed to keep plugging along.  Saw my family at mile 8 and that gave me a boost.  After mile 9 I had a few times that I had to walk for a minute but overall felt great.  To be honest I hit mile 15 and thought how am I going to do this?!  At that moment the song on my iPod was Strong Enough by Matthew West and the specific line was "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!"  It was awesome and such a God thing.  I sang and plugged along!  So proud to say that I even had  PR.  I shaved 7 minutes off my time from 2 years ago.  I finished in 2 hours and 30 minutes.  Another River Bank in the books!
Before the race we hung out in the Amway, perfect spot!
Nice bathrooms to use and warm and dry.

Ready for the race, here we go!
So thankful for Lindsey, she was a great training partner and encourager.

So happy to see my family!

Still smiling!

Some Gatorade hit the spot

Thankful for this man who lets me take the time away
I need to train and supports me quietly but supports me.

With 2 of my reasons why I do this, so I can be a healthy mom for my kiddos!

See the blood there on the right, yeah, it was gross.
quite the nasty blisters!

My littlest supporter!

So thankful they were there at the finish to see me cross the finish line!

Training buddies!

My crew

I did it!

Addisyn had a soccer game so she missed the race but
I missed her score a goal.  So bummed!

So thankful for my parents who also came down to support me in my race!

And a recovery Shakeology!

Ten on Tuesday

1.  My girls by the tulips, bummed we never made it to tulip time
and the rain last weekend took care of mine.  They weren't out that long.
I sure do love my tulips.

2.  Soccer is in full swing for Easton.  Tuesday nights are spent watching him
practice and then scrimmage.  He loves it and looks forward to it all week.
We say it is half soccer half rugby.  They spend more time on the ground then anything.

Love this picture of him

His biggest fans, his sisters!

3.  This chic loves soccer as well.  She enjoys Easton's soccer nights cause she goes off and finds her friends.  I look at this picture though and see some really long legs.  My baby girl is growing up.

4.  Softball is my biggest girl's love.

watching his biggest sister play
playing catcher, she was happy because the
other coach told her she had a good throw.

Grandma and Grandpa love watching Kylynn's games too

5.  This little guy loves to sleep on his daddy at night.

6.  She still loves dress up and I love her imagination!
 She was Wonder Pink here!
7.  The girls had Fine Arts Night at school a couple of weeks ago.  They were so proud of their artwork.  We checked out the artwork after their cute Tiki Tiki Tembo musical.  Hence the reason for Addisyn's pillowcase!

8.  We visited Old Papa last week.  He is looking great.  The kids love visiting with him.
He was trying to tell them about a distant relative that is a teacher at HCS.  So he got out his machine to help him see.  The kids thought that was so cool.  Kisses and handshakes when we left.

They sure do love Old Papa

9.  This guy gets quite a few baths.  I will be happy when the puppy stage is over.
Housebroken will be so much nicer.  I just don't have time to be watching this little dude.
Good thing the kids are pretty helpful.  But he is just so darn cute!

10.  Annual physical time and time to schedule my first mammogram.
I was pushing for this awhile back because my grandma had breast cancer and my mom has had some issues.  Ready to get my baseline done and be preventative.

Zoo Field Trip with Addisyn

I was so excited to spend the morning with Addisyn and her class at the Zoo.  We had a beautiful day to walk around and enjoy the outdoors.  She was on the go most of the time, good thing she wore her running shoes.
Tide Pool is always exciting

Me and my baby girl

Learning about baby animals

touching the chinchilla

Addisyn Joy

Brave little chic she is touching that snake, she sure doesn't get that from her mother

Her whole class

They were opening the gate up for the Tigers to go down
to the new area which will be opening soon.  They were luring them with food, which was really interesting to watch.  They were very timid and unsure of the whole situation.

Addisyn and her buddy Kaden

The otters were hilarious!

A must at the zoo, how high can you jump?
