Butterflies are Blooming

I had the privlige of attending Kylynn's field trip on Friday.  I love the fact that I have the opportunity to spend these times with her and know that she cherishes our times together.  It was not the greatest day, weather wise, which it never is when I go to the butterflies.  We are hoping for a nice day over spring break to be able to head there and play outside at the Lena Meijer Gardens with Addi and Easton.  We had a great time, as always.  Kylynn's teacher is amazing and the kids were all wonderful, so were the parents!

poor little guy

We headed to the doctor today for Easton's recheck from his ear infection back on February 17.  In the mean time he has had another ear infection that was detected when he went to DeVos last week Monday. I had been wondering what ear the infection was in and Jason couldn't remember.  Last week the ear infection was in the right ear.  When we got to the appointment today the nurse informed me that it was in the right ear back a month ago.  So that was upsetting to me that the same ear was still infected or reinfected less than a month later.  Today at the recheck he looked in the right ear and said it looked better, wasn't completely clear yet but was getting there.  Then he looked in the left ear, the one that hasn't been infected, and guess what, it is now infected.  So my poor little guy has had 3 ear infections within the last month!  I hope this isn't the start of something which leads to tubes, but maybe that is what we need to do.  He has a recheck on April 11, with his sister.  Oh yeah, Addisyn had a double ear infection when we went to the doctor on Tuesday.  It's been antibiotics and antibiotics over here.  I'm praying that there is nothing when he goes back but if there is I'll be pushing for tubes!

My little brother

On Friday I headed to Lansing for the MSTA (Michigan Science Teachers Association) conference for the day with a couple of teachers.  This was my first time ever going, I was pretty excited and looking forward to some time away.  One of the best things about Friday was being able to see my little brother.  We trucked over through the capital to the Mason building where Trev works.  He gave us the tour.  Well, let's just say he must be something special as there is quite high security to get to him, and then I set off the alarm as we walked through the gate.  Oh well, it was a good laugh.  My brother just took a new job as the Legislative Liason and Policy Advisor for the DNR.  This was his first week on the job so I was pretty excited to be his first official visitor.  He told us about his new job and then we took off to tour the capital, not an official tour but he told us we could walk through all of it.  We had a great time.  I'm so proud of my little brother and it was so cool to see his office.  He even has his name on the glass next to his door, pretty big stuff I'd say.
So proud of my little brother!

Only 300 to go...

I've made it to day 66, only 300 more posts to go.  I have to say it has definitely been challenging on some days to come up with a photo to represent my day but for the most part it has been fun.  I love how the kids say, use this picture for your photo of the day, or how about you take a picture for your photo of the day blog.  I love the challenge and look forward to what else is in store for me and my camera.
If you haven't checked it out yet hop on over and see my life in photos.

Check - ups

In the last week we've had two big check-ups at the doctors for our family.  Addisyn had her 4 year well child check up and is doing fantastic.  She was 40 3/4 inches (75%) and 36.2 lbs (60%).  The doc said she is doing well and growing just fine.  He has no concerns about her development.  No immunizations this time, next year she'll get a bunch though.  When we got home I had to compare her to her sister, we were thinking she was lighter but taller than her sister was at 4 years old.  Well, we were right for one of them.  She is an inch taller than Kylynn was at 4 years but she also was about a pound heavier.  We were a little surprised by this as we feel that Addisyn just seems slimmer and taller.  Kinda fun to compare them.
Easton had a check up at DeVos yesterday for his Spherocytosis that he inherited from 'Moi'!  He made his momma proud!  He hardly made a peep when they drew his blood.  The guy who drew his blood and the nurse were so impressed.  Doctor Mitchell then came in to check him out and said he looks great.  She got a kick out of his facial expressions when he was throwing a ball.  He picked a new ball out of the poke prizes basket.  He was pretty proud of it.  We left before I heard about his labs but Dr. Mitchell called me before we made it out of the parking ramp.  His Hemoglobin was a 12.1, perfect she said.  He also does not need to have his iron drops anymore.  Way to go Easton!  I just feel so blessed that he is healthy and thank God for a good report.
He was such a good boy for mommy!
