Zoo Field Trip

Last week I had the privilige of going on another field trip with Kylynn. This time we headed to the Zoo. We had a great time together hunting for the animals on her paper. She had to find all or as many animals as she could on her paper. It was like a scavenger hunt, she loved it. Enjoy the pictures of our morning together. We got a little rained on but we survived.

9 months, finally

Easton Marc

Check out my 4 teeth!

I love to stand up nowWho me?

Oops! Life has been a little busy lately so I am finally getting to posting about Easton's 9 month mile markers. He is 9 1/2 months old and I just took his 9 month pics tonight. I am waiting for the weather to warm up to do some outside shots for his 9 month photo shoot, we'll see how that goes.

I can't believe my little guy is 9 months old already. Heck, he's half way to 10 months! Wow, time flies! Easton is starting to get in to trouble and I think he's going to give us a run for our money. He's in to EVERYTHING! But we wouldn't have it any other way! He is so much fun and we're enjoying all of his new tricks.

-is starting to wave on his own

-claps his hands when he hears someone else clapping

-is full blown crawling and crawling everywhere

-pulling himself up on things (not completely to his feet yet)

-learned to walk with someone and is liking that

-he doesn't like to be put in the jump -a- roo anymore (how will I take showers this summer?)

-started eating 3rd foods

-doesn't care for the big chunks quite yet

-wearing 12 month, 12-18 months, and 18 month clothes

-has 4 teeth now and is drooling like crazy again - more coming?

-takes 4 bottles a day, mostly 6 oz each but sometimes 7 or 8 oz 1st in the morning or right for bed

-loves bathtime

Loving our Easton and can't believe we'll be celebrating his birthday before you know it!

worth a try

One of my favorite things at Easter is deviled eggs. Earlier in the week I had talked to a friend about making them and she said just to look up a recipe in any cookbook. So who better to use but Betty Crocker, well that was a waste! I cut each egg, after my wonderful sister peeled them all for me, well almost all of them. Scooped out the yolks and then mashed them up. Mixed them with dry mustard, mayonaise, salt and pepper. Well, let's just say I followed the recipe to a 'T' but they were the worst things I've ever tasted. I actually spit it out! It was awful! I was so incredibly disappointed and felt bad because everyone else was looking forward to them, all but Mom, who dislikes eggs, how can you dislike eggs? Anyway. I am in need of a good deviled eggs recipe so if you'd like to share I'd be happy to accept with open arms. Maybe I can redeem myself next year!

Kari helped me peel the eggs!

Yolks, eggs, finished product, looks go0d-tasted awful!

Easter Blessings

We enjoyed our time in Traverse City with my parents, sister, and Dustin. We were able to see some friends and just relax. Being able to worship on Easter with my parents and spend time with them was special. I have to admit I got rather emotional at church yesterday. Two of my favorite Easter songs were the first songs sung and they always remind me of my Grandma. She loved to sing and we spent many Easter Sundays in church with her. So singing those songs brings me right back to those times with her. I couldn't help but think, what an awesome Easter it was for her this year, praising God in Heaven, what a wonderful thing that must be. But it also makes me miss her.

As I sit here writing for this post I just can't thank God enough for the beautiful family he has blessed me with. All of the sins I have committed he has taken the wrath for and for that I am ultimately grateful! So I hope everyone enjoyed their Easter and has felt rejuvenated to go forth and spread His Word! Happy Monday!

Easter Fun

We headed over to Grand Traverse Commons for an Easter Egg hunt. Our first ever Easter Egg hunt, and probably our last. It was not very fun for the girls. There were not enough eggs and the space was not very big for the kids to be able to run and have fun. For the most part the girls got eggs cause someone dropped one or shared with them. We decided next year we're doing our own with friends. To top it off the candy was nothing the girls liked. They had salt water taffy and sour lemon heads, yeah, nothing good for 3 and 4 year olds. Oh well, it was fun to see Lauren and Camden and it got us outside for a little while. The sun did manage to pop out at one point so it made for a nice time.

Dinner with the parents

J and I took my mom and dad out to dinner Saturday night at Apache Trout Grill in TC, it was fantastic. I had bbq salmon and it was delicious. We enjoyed our time with my parents, just the four of us, very quiet and enjoyable. Thanks to my sister for watching the kids, we really appreciated the time away.
