Pre K Open House

The other night we headed out for Kylynn's Pre K open house. We enjoyed touring her classroom and looking at all of the great areas she will get to enjoy this school year. So excited for her this year! Sitting at her seat

I think they are all set

Today my mom, sister and I traveled down to Naperville for Baby VanDyke's baby shower. Katie is such a glowing pregnant momma. She looks fantastic preggars, only wished I looked so good. On the way down we had to make a pit stop for the hubby at Cabela's for a look in the bargain cave and another important purchase. Once we were back on the road we made our way to the shower and were even a few minutes early. Me, Mom, Katie and baby, Kari
Here are all of the gifts for Baby VanDyke.

A baby gate to keep her safe or Marley away.

Baby VanDyke received a ton of books. One thing a teacher is always happy about. Books are a great gift to give a new baby.

Overall it was a beautiful day for a drive and a baby shower. We had a nice time, delicious food and good conversation. I think baby VanDyke is all set to join us. It's amazing how much stuff you need for one little person to enter the world. Hope they have fun preparing for her. We can't wait to meet her!

Fair time again...

This year we made two trips to the fair. We headed there on Tuesday with Jason's family so the girls could ride rides to their cousins. Then we headed back tonight cause Daddy is back in town. Tonight we had the royal treatment from the Arnold's. They are always so good to us. The girls enjoyed an unlimited amount of rides tonight and then were treated with Cotton Candy and they each got a pig and a cow toy. I had to stop on the way out though and get an elephant ear. Nothing beats a good elephant ear! Kylynn, Cambrey and Addisyn
can't figure out how to turn this one

Tigers Game

Great seats and great game

Home runs galore

Tigers win and fireworks! Great end to a great game!

Welcome to the last of our Anniversary/Birthday trip posts. We headed back to the states to D Town for a Tigers Game. I joked at the beginning of the baseball season when I saw a schedule and there was one on my birthday. I told Jason that he could take me to a game for my birthday. Well, he must have been listening, I sometimes wonder! We went to a game about a month ago with Jason's work and had the royal treatment. This time around we sat down in the tight quarters and enjoyed the real feeling of being at a Tigers Game. We were 15 rows up, great seats! In foul ball territory but J assured me that most of the Indians line up were lefty batters so we were safe.

After checking in to our hotel and relaxing for a little bit we headed down to the ball park. We enjoyed a delicious pulled pork sandwich at Chelis Chili Bar and a few drinks. Might as well drink cheaper than at the park. We had a great dinner, lots of laughs and great food. Jason and I love to people watch, so we were in our glory.

Then it was off to the ball park. We walked all the way around the park before heading down to our seats. Might as well not sit for longer than we need to. It was a great game, 3 home runs and 2 back to back. The first half of the game was boring but once we hit the 6th inning it was all action. So glad, it would have been awful if all of the innings were like the first half. It was a great time and can't wait to bring the kids back someday.

Niagra Falls... part 2 - A Journey Behind the Falls

The next morning we got up and headed down to Journey Behind the Falls. After a rather expensive breakfast at IHOP. Once again we learned our lesson. Tourist Traps are not our friends! Here's a view of the Falls from down at the bottom
A little wet, the girls asked if it was raining, well, kind of

Amazing

It was a fantastic getaway. Jason and I enjoyed ourselves and saw some beautiful parts of God's creation. Next post, part 3 off to the Tigers Game.

Niagra Falls part 1

My hubby took me away for a long weekend to celebrate both our anniversary and my birthday. I have always wanted to see Niagra Falls. That is where he took me, for the first half of our trip. He splurged and we stayed at the Hilton and had a view of the falls. So this first picture was my first sighting of the falls. We opened the curtains and this is the view we had from our room, it was amazing! I'll let the pictures tell the rest of the story of this wonderful trip.

Horseshoe Falls

Rainbows everywhere, what a blessing from our Great Creator

Love this picture of the Maid and the Mist and the American side of the falls

Here is the incline railway that you take down to the falls

*If you want to hear a funny story you'll need to ask Jason, lets just say we

tried to save a few bucks but took a nice long walk to nowhere!

The happy couple

The Maid and the Mist - look how far in they go

Our hotel, we are the third floor from the top you can see the windows that stick out

We went to Brasa, a Brazillian Steakhouse for dinner. On our Honeymoon we also went to one in Mexico, it was Jason's favorite. So I said we could try it out, he was pretty happy. If you've never been to one before they keep coming around with meats, all different types and cuts. It is endless, eat till your hearts content.

I had my fair share of grilled pineapple!

*4 servings to be exact, brown sugar and cinnamon, it was fantastic!
