The First of Many

Today I was blessed to be able to attend Kylynn's first field trip. We headed out to the Apple Orchard. We were a little disappointed that it wasn't 'our' orchard. Some of J's family owns an orchard a 1/2 mile down the road from the one we visited. We still enjoyed ourselves and learned all about apples. For those of you who know our Kylynn she is a bubbly, outgoing little girl, when it comes to school she is Miss Shy Girl. I enjoyed holding her hand and being right by her side as we walked through the orchard. I don't get much of that at home anymore so it's nice to be able to be with her one on one and to have her want me right by her.Kylynn JoyOur good little listenerMeeting Mr. Jughead the scarecrow who helps

life at home with the kids

Here's a few photos of what we've been up do during our days with mom home. I am enjoying our routine of preschool days and at home days. I've got about 6 more weeks at home, can't believe that is all that is left. I need to make the most of it. Easton is on some medicine for acid reflux and I think it is doing the trick. He has been napping much better and seems to be a happier baby. It makes it nice for me during the day, I'm able to get some things done or take a nap myself. Enjoy some photos of the kids.
Easton loves his bouncer right now, too bad I can't catch these great smiles when he looks at meAddisyn helping mom make rice krispie treats, 1st time,

Our big boy

Easton had his two month check up yesterday and he weighs 15 lbs 8 oz. He is 95% for his age. I knew he was big. I looked at Kylynn's baby book cause I thought she was a pretty chunky baby as well and she was 15 lbs 2 oz at 4 months. No wonder my back is killing me. He was 24.5 inches, 90% for his age in height. He did really well considering he had to have 5 shots. I calmed him down and then it was big sisters turn. I didn't realize she needed any but she did, next time Daddy goes. Speaking of, he will be taking her today to have blood work done for us to be able to find out if she has HS. I'll keep you posted.I am enjoying my time at home with the kids, today is jammie day. Tuesdays and Thursdays we don't have to get out of the house so we just hang out in our jammies. Right now Easton is napping in his bed, yeah!!! The girls are playing nicely on the floor, Kylynn is coloring and Addisyn is playing with some little people. And the best thing about today is that Easton slept from 10 - 7 last night, YEAH!!!!!! Thank you Easton for the full nights rest, I needed it, he must have known.

The Greatest Show on Earth...

That's right, the girls, my mom, and I attended the greatest show on earth on Saturday, Ringling Bros Barnum and Bailey's Circus. At first Kylynn was scared, it was a little overwhelming, loud and a lot going on. We were a little bummed there were no lions but we saw, tigers, elephants, zebras, horses, and funny doggies doing tricks. It was a great time to spend with just the girls, Easton was left in great hands with Hannah. I was so thankful that my mom came down this weekend to help me out while J was away hunting for the big bear. I would not have been able to do it without her. Thanks Mom, Love ya! Three kids is a lot of work and doing it alone is even tougher, I give a lot of credit to the single parents out there, I hope I never have to be one. Here are some pics of our time at the circus, we enjoyed popcorn, hot dogs, and I even enjoyed a corn dog. Gotta love greasy circus food.
Me and my girls, so glad I could take them to the circus, we had so much funAddi and her popcornGrandma and Kylynn enjoying the showThe elephants were my favorite, they are so big and so gentle

A hunting we will go...

It's hunting season once again. My husband's favorite time of the year. It used to be fun for me, time to shop and go out to dinner with friends. Then I started having kids. It wasn't so bad when I had just one but ever since it is quite a bit of work for me. But I love my hubby and I allow him to go do what he loves. I think this is something special about our marriage, he gets his time and I get mine. However, mine is not as often as his as I have little ones at home. I look forward to the day when the kids are old enough and I will be able to shop, go out to dinner with friends (without kids), and do what I want when I want. For now I will just be supermom.

GO BLUE!!!

At this home we are maize and blue fans! J has been training the girls to say GO BLUE! when he watches Michigan football games. This past weekend I decided to dress the family in those favorite colors. I just love this photo!

8 weeks

Our little guy is 8 weeks old today. He is changing every day. Lately we notice he is cooing much more. He absolutely loves to smile at himself in his swing and we got him a new toy for his car seat, he now has something to look at while he rides. Which was nice on his long car ride the other day. I have been changing over some of his clothes and getting out all of his 3-6 month clothes and he is definitely in the Carter's 3 month size and almost filling them completely.

On a little bit of a sad note we found out yesterday that he has Hereditary Spherocytosis. For those of you who have known me for a long time you remember me having a spleenectomy as a child, that's why. Both of our girls were tested and they did not have HS, except for we are going to test Kylynn again. When she was 1 year she had spherocytes in her blood so the doctor thinks we should check her again. This is totally treatable and nothing to fret over. I just struggle because you don't want anything to be wrong with your child. He will be fine and they are not quick to take the spleen out anymore. He will be treated with blood transfusions if they need to. The thing with HS is that the red blood cells are spherical in shape instead of concave so they don't bend as easily and break down quicker. So the blood has to be made quicker and more often. He goes back to the doctor when he is just over 4 months so we'll see what we learn then. He will just be watched and shouldn't have any major complications in life because of this. I guess I'm alive and well so he'll be fine too.

Another trip over the bridge...

Over the bridge we went again, for another long family weekend. The girls absolutely loved riding 4-wheelers. Addisyn was a little scared at first but was forced to go and loved it. It was a chilly weekend so we spent a lot of time in the cabin but the girls loved bundling up and going for rides. We visited the lighthouse, played at the park, played with their cousins, rode 4-wheelers, played with friends, looked for deer, and made great memories.
