My Baby Girl Turns 6!

This spunky little love filled little girl turns 6 today!  Where did the time go?  6 years ago today I taught all day, contractions started at lunch, I left and told my principal I wouldn't be back I was going to have a baby.  I was right, she made her appearance that night and our lives have never been the same since.  The Lord knew Kylynn needed a little sister, they are the best of friends and I can't wait to see their friendship bloom as the years go by.  Addisyn is the sweetest girl I know.  She loves with all of her heart and would give you asked for.  I am amazed at how giving she is, she even teaches me a thing or two.  We are so blessed to have her in our family and can't wait to see what God has in store for her life.  I'm sure he has big plans for her with her big loving and giving heart!  Happy Birthday Addisyn Joy!

Ten on Tuesday

1.  It's parent teacher conference week, which means a long week for me. To top it off we have conferences for the girls as well.  I will be happy with Friday is here!

2.  I got my butt back out for a run on Sunday.  I am so happy that I did.  The sun was shining and it was a beautiful day, minus the wind it would have been perfect.  I made it just over 4 miles.  Hoping this gets me motivated to keep at it.  I hadn't run or exercised besides my two snow shoeing hikes with the hubby in over 3 weeks.  I even got to use my new hat, I was pretty excited about that.  There is a hole in the hat for my pony tail and it is up high, a friend from work told me about it and it was a good deal.  I got it for $19 with free shipping.  I love good deals!

3.  I had mid winter break last week so I got to spend the day Tuesday with Easton.  The girls had a 2 hour delay which was perfect because we got home late Monday night.  Easton and I brought the girls to school and stopped at Family Fare, then we headed home for a bit before his hair cut.  I thoroughly enjoyed my one on one time with him.

He knows the drill, go to family fare with mom and get a doughnut
After his haircut he wanted to play outside.  I couldn't resist, better than sitting on the iPad which is where he likes to be all of the time lately.  The sun was shining so he played and I shoveled.

4.
I did my best to clean the driveway.  I have a bit of an obsession with keeping
the driveway clear:)

5.  Kylynn celebrated her 100th day of school on Wednesday.  This was quite the ordeal.  We had to decorate a hat with 100 items.  She begged me and begged me to get this done, so we did it in stages.  I found a bunch of old flowers I used when I made them hair clips.  I made her count out groups of 10 and put them in a bag.  Then on one of our days at home we finally glued them on.  She was very happy with the end product.

6.  HCS had Teacher Appreciation week last week so we had to show our teachers how much we appreciate them.  I ordered the cup for Kylynn's teacher back in August when we found out who her teacher was, I knew that she liked pink and polka dots so the cup was perfect.  I picked the one up for Addisyn's teacher not too long after that.  We filled them with the crystal light packets and the tags said "You quench my child's thirst for knowledge!"

7.  Easton is OBSESSED, putting it mildly, with technology lately.  He now loves playing Kylynn's iPod touch.  We finally found out why, he loves a certain game that was on there, Subway Surfers.  So we put it on the iPad as well so he isn't bugging her all of the time.  We have to do a better job of limiting their screen time.

8.  I had to run to Koezee nuts to pick up a donation for the HCS auction and their valentine's candy was 90% off.  I can't resist a good sale or a good treat, so I grabbed this bag for 60 cents and shared with my teaching buddies in the hall.

9. I had a 31 party here this past week and my sis in law Lindsey came, she brought Molly.  My girls were in heaven!  We haven't seen her in 5 weeks so they had to get their hands on her.  She is getting so big and I was able to get some snuggles in too.

10.  Friday was pajama day for Addisyn, she had a great day!  She even brought her blanket and flashlight.  She is getting so old looking.  My baby girl turns 6 this week, I am feeling a little sad.

Once in a lifetime...

We were in TC and I was seeing tons of posts about the ice caves north of Leeland.  Jason and I decided that it was something we needed to check out.  It even made national news.  We were so close we had to check them out.  So after swimming and playing at the lodge for the morning we ate some lunch, packed up the suburban and headed to check them out.  We are so glad we did, they were amazing.  Pictures do not do them justice.  The only thing is as soon as we left the snow started to fall and we were in for a long drive home.  It was HORRIBLE!  I prayed and prayed the entire way home, Jason's hands hurt from gripping the steering wheel so tightly.  Praise God we made it home after a 5 hour drive, kids did great thankfully.

Great Wolf Lodge 2014

We were planning on taking the kids to Florida for spring break but due to some circumstances out of our control we will not be able to.  Of course this would happen to me when we are having one of the worst winters ever and I will desperately need to get out of here into some warmer weather, oh well, such is life.  Anyway, we decided to take the kids to Great Wolf Lodge instead for my mid winter break, which was this past weekend.  They had a blast!  Easton was too little for the big tube slides and was quite upset about that but he had an absolute ball on 'his' slides.  The girls took turns with dad and mom on the tube slides and also loved the red and yellow slides they could do all alone.  Easton wanted nothing to do with the big slides Sunday night but by Monday Jason put him down, he kinda tricked him, but it was the best move ever.  He loved it and wanted to go again!  The kids are already talking about the next time we go.  We might have to make this a yearly activity.
ready to have some fun

Grandpa and Grandma joined us for a pizza dinner,

Snow Tubing

Sunday afternoon we headed out to Timberlee in Traverse City to do some snow tubing.  The kids had a blast.  I was a little nervous about Easton but he was hillarious.  He wanted to keep going and going.  The kid is comical that is for sure.  At one point he was flapping his arms as we flew down the hill.  He even got snow in his face and didn't care.  Good times were definitely had by all!
All set to go
