am I a bad mom?

Okay, so my morning didn't start out the greatest. I was on time, even earlier than normal for getting the girls up. I got Kylynn up first, she had wet through her pull-up. So into the tub she went, not happy at all. She wanted to wear her PJ's to day care. Not a go when they are damp with pee. I finally settled her down by snuggling for a few minutes before I got Addi up. Then we were all set to go. The girls were in the car and off we went. As we were heading down the road I realized I forgot my prescription information for the reimbursement from school. I called J to see if he could pick it up and bring it to me. While on the phone I realized I had forgotten Kylynn's backpack. She starts crying in the backseat. I then said, I don't think she should go to school with her snotty nose. He agrees. She is terribly upset cause she wants to go to school. I settle her down again at Lindsay's. Tell her she needs to rest today so she can get better for Thursday. These are the days that I wish I didn't work. These are the days when I feel like a terrible mom. I know this too shall pass but I hate leaving my girls when they don't feel up to par and when they want to just snuggle with their mom. Just needed to get that off my chest!

My girls, I just love them!

He got one...

Jason was bear hunting last week and got a bear. I was surprised he shot it but he got a 130lb bear. The big ones didn't come out while he was there. He was happy to get a bear though.

Off to 3 School...

I just got home from dropping Kylynn off at 3 school. We enjoyed a good breakfast at Rainbow Grill, she had a Mickey Mouse pancake. Then we headed to preschool, I can honestly say that I started to tear up on our way, my baby is going to school??? How can that be, wow, 3 years sure flies by. 4 years ago at this time I was wondering if I would get pregnant and so worried and here we are now with a beautiful little girl who didn't even want to say good bye to her mommy, she was so ready to play and do her thing. She knew right where to put her backpack that I missed the picture, then she grabbed her name tag out of her cubby and in we went. She played with some playdough and the corn so I could get some good pictures. I won't be taking her to preschool because I work so Lindsay will be taking her. I had to soak up all of the photo ops today. So now I'm uploading pictures, doing a little laundry and I'll go back and pick her up. I'm sure she will have lots of stories to tell us.

GO BLUE!!!

It is football season and that means Michigan Football is on our TV every Saturday. Today we were out at Sandy Pines for the VanDyke Family Reunion so Jason made sure to set the DVR for the game. He was also smart enough to tape the next event so that it wouldn't cut the ending off if it went long, good thing he did that. I was down here checking facebook and email and could hear him yelling "GO BLUE!" I also could hear little voices yelling "GO BLUE!" So he's training them young!

Back to School

After a relaxing weekend, well maybe relaxing, it's back to school for me. I had a great 1st day back and enjoyed getting to know 75 new 6th graders. I'm teaching 3 sections of science and a literacy block. It will be a great year once I get into the swing of things. Once again we ventured up to the UP for our annual Labor Day weekend trip with the Vugteveen's. Lot's of good times, and bad, I threw my back out yesterday morning when we were packing to leave. I'm feeling tons better but it was pretty scary. I'll leave you with some pictures of our weekend. The girls had a blast and whenever Addi heard the 4 wheelers she started whimpering and saying 'ride', 'ride', 'ride'. It's the new word, along with 'nack.' She never ceases to amaze me.

Addisyn Joy is 18 months!

Today we took Addi in for her 18 month check up. She had another ear infection, my poor baby. So she is off to the ENT again tomorrow. He better put tubes in her ears. I really wish they just would have done it back in June when I wasn't in school. I'm so irritated by the fact that I now have to figure all of this out with schedules and subs and who knows what.

Anyway, she weighed 25.6 lbs, 1 lb lighter than her sister at 18 months and 33 1/2 inches, the same as her sister at 18 months. She was 90th percentile for height and 60 for weight. Hopefully she'll be tall and skinny like her dad :)
